BFC Squash Limassol v BFC 26 Nov 19

By November 28, 2019 No Comments

Outstanding night of squash, linking into the local community with our friends and witnessing some great battles on court.

The regular meeting (3 times a year) that has continued to be a challenge for all players throughout the past 5 years is always one event to look forward to in the program.  Competition is always extremely close, intense, teams calculating the scores as the games complete, hard work and every point counts towards the end result.

Winner has fluctuated between both sides and over time it’s about evens.  Most important part is taking part and being part of BFC Squash.  It’s all about teamwork, coaching and development and of course the banter.  Tonight was no exception, an intense night with both teams leading at some stage and the pressure was mounting.  15 competitive matches involving 30 players.

Limassol were strong, clinical, have been training hard, youth developed well and they managed to win overall 29 – 26.  Congratulations to Limassol for their outstanding performance and defeated a very strong BFC Squash team.

Many thanks to Vaso (team manager) for hosting the night and providing the biggest pizza I have ever witnessed and refreshments.

Aki Squash Secretary Cpl Matthew Faulkner (new appointed Squash Secretary) has worked hard, advertised and collated a decent squash squad in a little over a month in post.  Incredible effort, keep up the hard work and Aki formed 50% of BFC Team.  Epi look forward to hosting the next event, Epi v Aki 9 Dec 19.

Congratulations for all players commitment, individual performance and sportsmanship on court tonight – Outstanding effort!

On behalf of BFC Squash Committee Flt Lt Kelley, WO1 Walbrook and Cpl Collins many for your continual support, keep training hard and for helping driving squash forward to a new level in BFC.
