New Secretary for Army Reserve Squash

By April 4, 2022 No Comments

Army Squash is pleased to announce that Capt Michelle Higgins was successful with her application to become the new Secretary of Army Reserve Squash and will take over from Maj (Retd) Joe Rawsthorne with immediate effect.

Michelle has been a pioneer in the growth of Reservist squash since being that person back in 2009 that was advised after reaching the finals of the Army Squash Individual Championships that she wasn’t allowed to play as a Reservist.

She has since represented the Army and UKAF at individual and team squash events and has toured Australia, USA and Gibraltar.

Michelle is the current AMS Squash secretary since post gapped and has been influential in the growth of AMS squash, the Corps winning Div 3 at recent Inter Corps Championships.

In her ‘spare’ time Michelle is busy on the civilian squash circuit as a L2 squash coach and is currently the Essex Ladies O40’s team Captain.  She has played to county level for both Seniors and Masters and has coached County junior players up to age 19 from beginner to elite.  An excellent planner, Michelle has assisted with organising various civilian and military tournaments at club to county level.
